The Sikeston Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs recently participated in Sikeston’s first annual Dashing Through Downtown Parade of Lights. The group—32 in all—included members of the clubs, staff, parents, siblings, and even friends from a neighboring church.
Some children rode on the float, which was decked out in decorations for the theme “The Greatest SNOWman.” Others walked along the 10-block route, waving, shouting “Merry Christmas,” and passing out candy and invitations. Afterward, the youth, their families, and community visitors crowded into Peace Point Chapel, our little Adventist church, for Christmas music, cocoa, cookies, and warm homemade chili.
