About 100 people attended the Rolla Church on Aug. 25—nearly double the normal attendance—for “Community Guest Day,” a special worship service geared toward first-time churchgoers.
Children from the Stepping Stones Child Care Center and the Rolla SDA Church School helped lead the congregation in praise and worship.
The sermon, entitled “Scars…Or Stepping Stones?” was based on the story of Joseph. Listeners were encouraged to trust God to turn trial into triumph, no matter how deep their wounds or challenging their circumstances.
Immediately following the service, a fellowship meal was served in the daycare gymnasium, where church members continued to fellowship with guests over pasta, salad, and desserts. Several first-time guests expressed their enjoyment of the service and promised to return in the near future.
The Rolla Church thanks each member for doing their part in making this day a success, and praises God for new relationships formed between the church and the Rolla community.
