Students from Prescott SDA School in St. Joseph, Missouri, split into three groups every week to share the love of Jesus in their community.
One group travels to the Noyes Home for Children to interact with preschool residents, clean toys, or whatever else needs to be done around the center. Prescott is grateful for the assistance of local church members who help transport and supervise students during their visits.
A second group walks to Riverside Place, a nursing home near the school, where they visit with the residents, sing, and read to them. Six of our students also engage with residents as part of the Partnering for Eternity program run by Southern Adventist University. Students earn tuition assistance by visiting with their senior mentors for an hour each week.
The third group remains at the school making get well cards for people on their prayer board, sending Bible verse postcards to young people in their community, and other activities that help the community.
Once a month, students also have a “mufti day” to help raise funds for community projects. Students have the option of wearing regular clothes to school instead of the usual uniform, but they must pay $2.50 for the privilege.
Prescott SDA School is blessed to have students who love to share Jesus with those around them.
