Middle East University (MEU) in Beirut, Lebanon held their biannual week of spiritual emphasis from November 5-10.
Rob Alfalah, pastor of the St. Louis Central and Mid Rivers churches, was the featured speaker. He preached an 11-part series titled “Abraham: Father of the Faithful.” Six of the sermons can be viewed online at the University Church Facebook page.
In addition to his series, Pastor Rob also spoke three times at the Adventist school in Bouchrieh, once during a church social trip to the Cedars of God (a forest filled with ancient cedar trees), and two staff devotionals. Altogether, he spoke on 17 occasions over a six-day period.
Coming to Lebanon was a personal experience for Pastor Rob because his parents, though Iraqi, were married in a church in Lebanon approximately 10 minutes from MEU. He arranged a visit and saw his parents’ names written in the church record book—a book that even records the date of his parents’ wedding some 45 years ago.
Pastor Rob enjoyed his trip to Lebanon. He preached powerfully, blessed many people, reconnected with his family history, enjoyed Middle Eastern food, and visited amazing biblical places such as Tyre, Sidon, and the Cedars of Lebanon. MEU and the University Church community were greatly blessed through his messages and ministry here.
