The Jefferson City Church’s Women’s Ministry team has started a quilting ministry called the Quilt Squad.

Upon discovering that the Central Missouri Foster Care Adoption Association needed blankets for children ages 9 and under that could be taken with them once adopted, members and non-members–some of whom are quilters while others had never used a sewing machine before–came together to make quilts for the children. We hope to enhance the lives of the children and staff of CMFCAA while also providing an outreach opportunity for our church and creating an environment for women to learn and use quilting and sewing talents in carrying out Galatians 5:14, which says, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Attached to each quilt the children receive is a tag with church information and uplifting scripture passages to remind each of them, as well as their foster parents and future families, that they are loved by God.
