We are saddened to announce that Christina Coston, Iowa-Missouri Conference communication director and clerk, has made the difficult decision to accept the position of associate communication director for the Southern Union.

“It was a difficult decision. I have enjoyed working in the Iowa-Missouri Conference and am thankful for my time here,” Coston said.

While Coston expressed excitement for the new position, she said she is also going to miss the Iowa-Missouri Conference. She said her favorite aspect of the job was meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing their stories with others.

“I will really miss traveling to churches and meeting so many incredible people who do so much for their communities,” Coston said.

During her time as communication director, Coston set a personal goal of sharing stories from as many congregations in the conference as possible. This year to date, the communication department has shared stories from 27 congregations.

“Local church communicators were such a help in providing stories. I hope they continue to send in stories from their churches,” Coston said.

Administrators said they have appreciated Coston’s work during her time at the conference.

“Christina has been such a blessing to our conference during her time with us. She has strengthened the connection between the conference communication department and the constituency. We will miss her and wish her God’s blessing as she takes up new responsibilities,” said Rhonda Karr, treasurer.

Coston, who is originally from North Carolina, said she is “looking forward to living closer to family and friends while continuing to work for the church and in the field of communication.”

Coston begins her new position before the end of the year. The Iowa-Missouri Conference is actively seeking a new communication director. If you or someone you know would be interested, please send your resume to our human resource department at [email protected]
